legal experience

Before she became a judge, Sasso had about 11 years of experience as an attorney. In that time, she argued 6 jury trials, 19+ non-jury trials, 1 arbitration case, and 15+ cases for administrative bodies (government agencies) to completion. For the first 8 years, she worked in private practice with both trial and appeal cases. She specialized in construction disputes, business dissolution, workers' compensation and liability claims, and foreclosure claims. She mostly represented business or governmental agencies. She then joined Farmer's Insurance as a staff trial attorney. She handled insurance matters, including premise liability claims, auto negligence claims, and underinsured motorist claims. From 2016 to 2019, she served on the Office of the General Counsel to Governor Rick Scott. She was one of Scott's legal advisors, vetted judicial candidates and Judicial Nominating Commission members, and tried cases at the state and federal levels.

Before that, she clerked for 1 year at a private law firm. She also held a summer internship at the Miami Dade prosecutor's office.
